Historical exhibit at Mercer Island Library | Letter

Who founded the Committee to Save the Earth (CSE) in 1969, and what is he/she doing now to save the Earth?

How much money did the Recycling Center, run by CSE, earn and contribute to the MI schools and community in 1994?

What events were included in the Recycling Olympics, sponsored by CSE in 1979 and attended by 250 Islanders?

All of these questions, and many others, are answered in the “History of the Mercer Island Recycling Center” display at the Mercer Island Library. The display opened on Oct. 25 and closes at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5.

Members of the Historical Society will be at the display on Nov. 4 from 2-3 p.m. to share related materials that did not fit into the display and to answer your questions.
