Lakes’ Halloween offers more than just candy

I tutor with ‘Invest in Youth,’ a Mercer Island program that works in several under-performing Seattle schools. This year my husband and I brought two (fifth and sixth grade) students from the program, neither of whom had ever been trick or treating, to the Lakes. They had the time of their lives.

I tutor with ‘Invest in Youth,’ a Mercer Island program that works in several under-performing Seattle schools. This year my husband and I brought two (fifth and sixth grade) students from the program, neither of whom had ever been trick or treating, to the Lakes. They had the time of their lives. Not only did they get a bag full of candy from this generous community, but they saw amazing decorations on the lawns and houses, families dressed up to hand out candy and hundreds of other children in costumes.

Thank you to the Lakes for hosting another magical Halloween.
