Yield to pedestrians

As I watched my neighbors and their dog try to cross Island Crest the other day, I was struck by how bad we are at yielding to pedestrians. It’s hard to remember that under Washington law, pedestrians have the right of way at every unmarked intersection. But beyond that, can we all try a little harder as a matter of neighborly courtesy? Letting someone cross ahead of you will just cost a few seconds, and it’s an easy way to remind ourselves that we’re all on this crazy journey together.
