A little art for the Island

Mercer Island’s first Free Little Art Gallery (FLAG) is located on the corner of Southeast 29th Street and 74th Avenue Southeast. Modeled after the little library concept in neighborhoods, but with art, people are welcome to enjoy looking at the art, take a piece of art, and/or make art to leave at the gallery. Check it out on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/p/CN1SeX-lPJV/?utm_medium=copy_link. “The FLAG inspired us by Seattle artist, Stacey Milrany, starting the movement last winter. It’s beautifully contagious and has connected countless people with creativity and community. It’s been so popular that we’ve started featuring solo artist exhibitions periodically,” said Tara Koehler, adding that FLAG was installed last spring in honor of her dad’s birthday.
