Burglaries remain open cases, according to MIPD

The Mercer Island Police Department (MIPD) is conducting emphasis patrols on the south end of the Island in the midst of a string of home burglaries in late January. According to the MIPD, the information included in this report is all that’s available to the public since the cases remain open.

In an MIPD social media post, the agency said the break-ins are related to other recent Eastside burglaries. “Our detectives are working with multiple police agencies involved, following up on all leads. We’ll continue to share updates as they’re available,” the post reads, in part.

MIPD encourages residents to familiarize themselves with the Lock It or Lose It! webpage: https://www.mercerisland.gov/police/page/lock-it-or-lose-it-campaign, and to report suspicious activity by calling the non-emergency dispatch line (425-577-5656) or 911.
