Candidates from 5th and 41st districts to appear on televised forum

Forum set for Oct. 1.

Candidates from the 5th and 41st legislative districts will answer questions in a forum from 6-8:15 p.m. Oct. 1. The forum will air live on Issaquah City Television (channel 21) and will remain available for later viewing on YouTube (Issaquah City Channel).

The 41st District includes Mercer Island.

The Kiwanis Club of Issaquah, the Issaquah branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and the Issaquah Cable TV Commission will co-host this event.

At 6 p.m., the 41st District candidates will be featured: Position 1, Tana Senn (D), who is running unopposed; Position 2, My-Linh Thai (D) and Al Rosenthal (R); and Senate: Lisa Wellman (D) and Mike Nykreim (R).

After a 15-minute break, the forum will resume at 7:15 p.m. with candidates from the 5th District: Position 1, Bill Ramos (D) and Ken Moninski (R); Position 2: Lisa Callan (D), who is running unopposed; and Senate, Mark Mullet (D) and Ingrid Anderson (D).

For each district, candidates will make opening statements. Candidates who have opponents will then respond to questions, the last of which will come from his or her opponent. Finally, each candidate will make a closing statement.

Connie Fletcher, a member of Kiwanis, and Anne Frances Owen, a member of AAUW, will moderate the forum.
