The theft of a WSDOT employee's vehicle was interrupted in the 2200 block of 72nd Avenue S.E. on Tuesday morning, Dec. 4.

A car theft was thwarted at the Park on the Lid between 8 and 9:25 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, after City of Mercer Island workers informed a police officer of a suspicious person near the WSDOT Tunnel Facility in the 2200 block of 72nd Avenue S.E.

The police officer contacted the subject inside a vehicle with a broken window and a severely damaged steering column and wiring.
