Education brief | Mercer Islanders Ken, Sandy Glass earn accolades

Islanders Ken and Sandy Glass won the Community Recognition Award for their “unwavering support of public schools.” Over the past 10 years, Ken Glass has served on numerous school and districtwide committees, as well as having served on the School Board. Currently, he sits on the superintendent’s District Advisory Committee and Parents Advisory Committee at MIHS, is a business advisor for the high school’s Career and Technology Education Department and is an active member of the MISF.

Sandy Glass is a talented graphic designer who generously lends her skills to Mercer Island schools as an artist-in-residence and coordinates various programs with some of the region’s premiere artists. Currently, Sandy Glass serves on the Fine Arts Advisory Council (FAAC) and as an advisor to the high school’s graphic design program.
