Islanders third at districts, will face Prairie at regionals | Prep girls basketball

Mercer Island claimed the third seed out of the 3A SeaKing district tournament, beating West Seattle 48-44 Saturday, Feb. 20 at Bellevue College.

Mercer Island claimed the third seed out of the 3A SeaKing district tournament, beating West Seattle 48-44 Saturday, Feb. 20 at Bellevue College.

Anna Luce scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Jess Blakeslee posted 13 points and eight boards for the Islanders (20-5). Lydia Giomi had 22 points and 13 rebounds for West Seattle (22-3).

Moving on to the regionals, Mercer Island will face Prairie (20-4) at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27 at Battle Ground High School.
