The Islanders lost game one with a 25-12 score, but bounced back in game two and three, winning 25-21 and 25-23. But the Rebels took game four, 25-18 to force a fifth game. Juanita handily grabbed the 15-8 win over the Islanders, making it the team’s first league loss this season.

During the battle, Lorial Yeadon had 12 kills and 10 digs, while Rachel Bowdle made 15 digs for the team. Sara Lindquist had 14 kills and three aces, while Kris Brackmann added 10 kills for the team. Setter Carly Wilson had 38 assists during the matches and Robby Blood added 11 kills.

For Juanita, junior Jade Finau posted 45 assists, while Dana Michels made 27 kills, had two blocks and 21 digs. Teammate Theresa Laufasa had 13 kills, 16 digs and three aces. Kelsey Camilleri-Espinoza had 15 digs and five aces for the team, while Natasha Hatch posted 13 digs.

The Islanders are currently the top team in the KingCo league with 9-1 league record and 9-2 overall. Juanita is has a 5-4 league and overall record.
