June 24

Minor, liquor violation: Subjects were contacted in a park in the 5600 block of Island Crest Way around 12:36 a.m.; police determined that one underage passenger was intoxicated. No arrests were made.

June 23

Car prowl: A vehicle parked in the 2900 block of 76th Avenue Southeast had been prowled overnight, a male victim reported. About $250 worth of items, including a garage door opener and miscellaneous documents (including registration and insurance info), was swiped.

Theft: A man reported that his bike parked in Hadley storage room in the 2600 block of 76th Avenue Southeast had been stolen sometime between midnight June 2 and 4:30 p.m. June 11.

June 22

Malicious mischief: A man reported that his car parked in the 9000 block of East Shorewood Drive had been keyed over the weekend. Damages incurred come to about $2,000.

Another car prowl: A woman reported that the right front window of her car parked in the 2900 block of 76th Avenue Southeast had been broken. While the glove box was rummaged through, nothing had been taken.

DUI: A male suspect was contacted by police in a park in the 2000 block of 84th Avenue Southeast and arrested for DUI under 21.

June 19

Domestic: A domestic disturbance in the 9000 block of West Shorewood Drive at around 10:46 p.m. resulted in an assault. The suspect was subsequently booked into Issaquah Jail.

June 17

Another theft: A woman reported that between June 16-17, a maintenance cart at the Island Square Apartments located in the 2700 block of 78th Avenue Southeast had been taken. She told police that the apartment porter had accidentally left the key in the ignition overnight.

June 16

More theft: A woman in the 2200 block of 77th Avenue Southeast reported that at around 4 a.m. on June 12, two Amazon packages had been stolen from her doorstep. The packages, in total, cost about $150 and included training golf balls and an Amazon foot bath device. The victim said that following her call to the police, she will be contacting Amazon about the situation.

Fraud: A man reported that he had received an email from Experian about a Verizon Wireless account created in his name. The email said a collections agency called MRIS had been hired by Verizon to collect some $3,143 in charges. The victim said he didn’t open the account and that no one had had his permission to open one. The victim was provided a case report number and resources to protect his identity by police.

More malicious mischief: A woman reported that her permitted park installation in the 3200 block of 78th Avenue Southeast had been damaged. Accompanying signs were stolen. The total value of these items was about $75.

Even more theft: A woman reported that her bike had been stolen in the 2700 block of 76th Avenue Southeast between 8 p.m. June 10 and 3 p.m. June 11. The bike is valued at about $500. The victim is working on getting security footage of the incident.

Additional theft: A suspect stole several items, including bandages, from a Walgreens in the 7700 block of Southeast 27th Street at 5:17 p.m.

June 15

A theft, again: A woman in the 7800 block of Southeast 22nd Place reported that they had noticed three fraudulent electronic bank payments made between April 1-June 1. All were made out to an apartment complex in Everett.

June 13

Yet another car prowl: A car parked in the 9000 block of East Shorewood Drive was prowled between 3 p.m. June 11 and 7:30 a.m. June 13. Both its vehicle registration and insurance were taken.

Burglary: A mailroom door in the 7600 block of Southeast 27th Street was pried open around 6 a.m.; video surveillance shows the suspect and their vehicle. Between five and six Amazon packages were stolen. Items included Cricket playing cards, yellow measuring tape and a black computer mouse pad.

June 12

Even more malicious mischief: The soft top of a car parked in the 9000 block of West Shorewood Drive was torn at the seam of its rear window between 9 p.m. June 11 and 7:41 a.m. June 12. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle; no nearby surveillance cameras caught the incident.

June 11

Recovered property: A neighbor of Mercer Island police’s Det. Sgt. Jim Robarge reported that a vehicle had been parked on the street for “some time” in the 7200 block of Southeast 27th Street. Robarge called the North East King County Regional Public Safety Communication Agency (NORCOM). They advised that the vehicle was listed as stolen.

More fraud: A woman in the 7700 block of Sunset Highway reported a false driver’s license renewal. The victim had gone online to renew her driver’s license from the Department of Licensing (DOL). She noticed that the mailing addresses listed didn’t belong to her. When she called the state DOL, a representative told her that they had already issued a new driver’s license in her name May 10. The DOL said that they were holding a dishonored check for the fee against her account.

June 10

Again, a car prowl: A vehicle was prowled between 8 p.m. June 9 and 5:30 a.m. in the 8400 block of Southeast 34th Place. The car was unlocked and the victim’s wallet was stolen. Two purchases were made with the stolen card at a couple of Bellevue locations.

Next, fraud: A woman in the 9000 block of West Shorewood Drive reported that while searching for her June car insurance bill, she noticed that her company had added a $450 policy for a vehicle that the victim had not purchased. The victim had to cancel the new addition and share fraudulent person and vehicle information.

More theft: A woman’s phone was taken from her work between 7:15-10:07 p.m. in the 8400 block of Southeast 68th Street.
