The “retail” should be a decent grocery store or restaurant. Downtown MI is pretty tired for such a great community! The only grocery store choices are an outdated QFC and run-down Albertsons. How about a Trader Joe’s or Metropolitan Market? It would be nice to be able to buy quality produce and meat without having to leave the Island. MI does not need another pizza store or fast-food-like restaurant. How about a kid-friendly restaurant? The additions of Freshy’s and the deli are a great first step! Let’s keep it up.
