Nov. 11

Buying gift cards: At 2:31 p.m. in the 2600 block of 76th Avenue Southeast, someone believes their credit card may have been stolen from her apartment. They were used to buy gift cards at Walgreens and QFC. They racked up $7,600 in charges.

Nov. 15

Parents assaulted: At 8 p.m. in the 7300 block of Southeast 32nd Street, a suspect assaulted his mother and father. The mother was transported to Overlake Medical Center for evaluation. The suspect was booked.

Nov. 16

Burglary: At 10:15 a.m. in the 7700 block of Southeast 34th Street, a suspect was caught on camera entering a business. They caused about $750 in damages and stole $60 worth of merchandise. The suspect wore gloves and a mask.

Blackmail: At 1:41 p.m. in the 9000 block of East Shorewood Drive, someone’s computer was infected by ransomware. More than 200,000 files were corrupted. The man received a message telling him to pay them $16,800 in Bitcoin to recover the files. The victim did not pay.

Theft: at 2:19 p.m. in the 8000 block of North Mercer Way, someone stole one wheel and two hubcaps from a parked car. There was no surveillance footage of the crime available.

DUI: At 11:21 p.m. in the 4600 block of Island Crest Way, police stopped a suspect for speeding. They performed poorly on a sobriety test. Police executed a blood warrant for DUI.

Nov. 18

Fraud: At 6:10 p.m. in the 3000 block of 61st Avenue Southeast, an unknown suspect hacked someone’s computer. They were able to access their Venmo account and took out a “substantial amount of money.”

Nov. 19

Fake check: At 8:14 a.m. in the 8400 block of West Mercer Way, a fake check with the victim’s account number on it was used at Winco to by $282.69 worth of goods.
