The Mercer Island baseball team beat Bothell on Saturday, March 23.

The final score was 6-5 for the Islanders.

Bothell had the lead early on with a 1-0 score at the end of the first inning. Mercer Island scored four runs in the second inning, but neither team rounded the bases again until the fifth inning, when the Islanders scored twice more. Bothell cut the lead by three runs in the sixth inning, but the team couldn’t overpower Mercer Island at home.

Mercer Island had 12 hits and no errors in the game, while Bothell had five hits and two errors.

Zach Rothenbe was 2-3 at the plate with one run and 2 RBI. Mack Schlamp was 3-4 at bat with two runs scored.

The Islanders will play Nathan Hale on Thursday, March 28 in a non conference game at Island Crest Park at 4:30 p.m.
