The Mercer Island girls basketball team earned its first league win of the season, beating Liberty 70-44 Monday night at MIHS.

The Islanders (4-0, 1-0) used a 27-point second quarter to pull away early. Jess Blakeslee, Taylor Krause and Anna Luce all scored 17 points in the win.

Next, Mercer Island will take on Juanita at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16 at Juanita High School.
