Arrests

Police arrested an Island woman for drunk driving on Feb. 8. According to the police report, the woman was pulled over in the 2900 block of 78th Avenue S.E. for a traffic infraction. She admitted to consuming alcohol and failed her standard field sobriety test. She was released to a friend and taken home by taxi.

A Mercer Island man was arrested on a $5,000 felony warrant on Feb. 4. According to the police report, the man was arrested after being spotted in his father’s car in the Albertsons parking lot. The suspect, 51, was arrested and booked into the King County Jail.

Police arrested a 16-year-old Island boy for drunk driving on Feb. 8. According to the police report, the youth was pulled over in the 8000 block of 72nd Street for a traffic violation. The teenager admitted to consuming alcohol. He was arrested and released to his mother. The case was forwarded to the Prosecutor’s office for consideration of charges.

Police arrested a Seattle man for possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended license on Feb. 8. The man was pulled over for an equipment violation in the 2700 block of 77th Avenue S.E. The officer discovered a film canister filled with green matter that later tested positive for marijuana on the man. He was booked into the Issaquah Jail.

Police arrested an Island resident and Bellevue resident for possession of marijuana on Feb. 8 after pulling the couple over for a traffic infraction in the 2900 block of 77th Avenue S.E. The officer noticed a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the car. The driver was questioned about the odor and produced a “grinder” with green vegetable matter inside, which tested positive as marijuana. The passenger appeared under the influence of the drug. The passenger was detained and placed into the back of a patrol car. Police searched the vehicle and discovered a white bag with a marijuana glass bong that was still smoking.

An Island man was arrested for driving with a suspended license in the 7600 block of North Mercer Way on Feb. 5. According to the police report, police ran the man’s plates and a computer check revealed that his license was suspended. The driver’s ID matched the computer description. He was arrested and booked into the Issaquah Jail.

Police arrested a Seattle man for possession of marijuana on Feb. 8. According to the police report, the man was pulled over after a computer check revealed that he was driving with a suspended license. Police discovered marijuana in a ziplock bag. The suspect was arrested and placed into the Issaquah Jail.

A man was arrested for driving northbound in the southbound lane of travel on 78th Avenue S.E. and was subsequently discovered to be under the influence on Feb. 5. According to the police report, the driver denied drinking alcohol when questioned by police. The woman, a 20-year-old Bellevue resident, failed a standard field sobriety test. She was arrested, processed and released to a sober driver. Citations were issued on investigation.

Theft

A man living in the 8500 block of S.E. 78th Street reported that two Trek 3500 bicycles were stolen out of his open garage between Feb. 3 and Feb. 6. According to the police report, nothing else was missing from the garage. The value of both bikes is $440.

An unknown person stole an iPhone from the Jewish Community Center gym during a basketball game on Feb. 8. The phone is an Apple 3GS with a black hard cover.

Fraud

A man reported that somebody used his credit card to make nine different purchases on Feb. 2. Six of the purchases were made in Madrid, Spain. The victim has cancelled his card, which he still possessed. No suspect information was available, according to the police report.

Mischief

A man living in the 2700 block of 70th Avenue S.E. reported that unknown persons egged his living room window and front door on Feb. 2. According to the police report, the suspects wore hooded grey sweatshirts and appeared to be teenagers. The vandalism occurred shortly after 10 p.m. No monetary damage was done.

Found property

A child’s bicycle was discovered along the I-90 bike path on Feb. 8. According to the police report, the Viken brand “Cool Times” purple bike was placed into lost property.

A man living in the 8200 block of S.E. 26th Street reported that he discovered two abandoned bicycles, one Huffy and one Mongoose, near a path that runs just east of the Island Crest I-90 off-ramp. The bicycles were recovered.
