A woman’s 1980s gold Rolex watch was stolen from a jewelry store in the 2400 block of 76th Avenue S.E. sometime on July 2 or July 3. The suspect is known by the victim, according to the incident report. The loss totals $15,000.

Theft

A woman reported that her purse was stolen from her residence in the 8200 block of West Mercer Way sometime between 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on July 2.

Car prowls

A GPS unit, cigarette packs and loose change were stolen from a Honda parked in the 2400 block of West Mercer Way during the night of July 8. Entry was gained through a passenger side window, which was pried open. Fingerprints were lifted from the vehicle.

The front passenger side window of a Subaru was smashed on July 6, in the Park and Ride in the 6600 block of S.E. 24th Street. A GPS unit and other small items were stolen. The loss totals $300.

Arrests

A 33-year-old Mercer Island man was arrested for driving with a suspended license after he was stopped for a vehicle interlock violation on July 9 in the 8400 block of S.E. 68th Street. His vehicle was impounded.

A 20-year-old Mercer Island man was arrested on July 9 in the 2900 block of 78th Avenue S.E. for a warrant felony. According to the police report, he was a reporting party for a domestic violence incident. He was booked into the Issaquah Jail.

A 23-year-old Bellevue woman was arrested on July 8 in the 2400 block of 76th Avenue S.E. for driving with a suspended license. She was processed and released at the Mercer Island Police Department.

A 24-year-old Seattle woman and 22-year-old Seattle man were arrested on July 8 in the 4600 block of Forest Avenue S.E. Police contacted them after finding them asleep while parked in the road. They had warrants and were in possession of heroin and stolen checks and jewelry.

A 36-year-old Snoqualmie man was arrested for boating under the influence on July 11 in the 9600 block of S.E. 33rd Street after police received a complaint regarding loud noise. He was processed and released at the MIPD.

A 46-year-old Renton man was contacted regarding an outstanding warrant on July 9 in the 4300 block of 87th Avenue S.E. The man was subsequently arrested after he removed a drug pipe from his pocket while police checked on the warrant. Methamphetamine residue was found on the pipe.

A 46-year-old Bellevue man was arrested for an outstanding warrant and driving with a suspended license on July 10 in the 2700 block of Island Crest Way. He was booked into the Issaquah Jail, and his vehicle was impounded.

A 25-year-old Ephrata man was arrested on July 4 in the 6000 block of East Mercer Way after being contacted by police on suspicion of a safety violation. The man failed the field sobriety and breathalyzer tests, and said that he had drunk six beers.

Accident

A rear-end collision occurred in the 7600 block of S.E. 27th Street on July 8 when the 75-year-old driver of a Subaru could not stop in time before hitting a Porsche, which was stopped in heavy traffic, according to the incident report.

Malicious mischief

A trash can fire occurred at Rotary Park on July 11. A 54-year-old Mercer Island man witnessed three male teenagers drive away from the trash can after a loud explosion, caused by fireworks, which damaged a cherry tree and grass. The youth returned and tried to put out the fire, according to the report, but fled the scene upon the man’s approach.

Burglary

An 88-year-old woman reported that her home was burglarized in the 6300 block of S.E. 22nd Street sometime between July 6 and July 10. She found that a window in the guest bedroom, upstairs, had been forced open. There were footprints on the bedroom carpet and an exterior wall. No items were stolen.

A 44-year-old woman reported that her son’s mountain bike was stolen out of her garage on July 9 in the 9200 block of S.E. 40th Street. She said that she had observed a person riding a bicycle away from the residence a half hour earlier.

Minor in violation

Police found a 17-year-old girl vomiting out the door of a vehicle in the 8400 block of S.E. 68th Street during the night of July 8, as a result of drinking alcohol. She was released to her mother.

Assault

A road-rage incident involving two vehicles occurred in the 4300 block of Island Crest Way on July 13. The drivers, both Mercer Island men, stopped their cars and had a physical fight. One was charged with assault and battery, and the other was charged with provoking assault and reckless driving.

Abandoned car

A Pontiac vehicle was abandoned in the 3400 block of 76th Place S.E. between June 29 and July 7. Police impounded the vehicle for parking in excess of 72 hours, according to the report.
