Police arrested a 50-year-old Seattle man with a misdemeanor warrant around 1 a.m. on Sept. 22 at the North Mercer Park and Ride.

Police arrested a 50-year-old Seattle man with a misdemeanor warrant around 1 a.m. on Sept. 22 at the North Mercer Park and Ride.

Police arrested a 27-year-old Mount Vernon man for an outstanding warrant around 9 a.m. on Sept. 17 in the 9600 block of S.E. 36th Street. Police stopped the man while driving his vehicle and, after arresting him, they searched the car and found drug paraphernalia inside.

A 30-year-old Seattle man was arrested for driving with a suspended license and operating the vehicle without a required breath-testing ignition device around 4:35 p.m. on Sept. 23 in the 4200 block of Island Crest Way.

A Lynnwood man, 44, was also arrested for driving with a suspended license around 1:20 p.m. on Sept. 23 in the 4200 block of Island Crest Way.

Auto accidents

A collision occurred just east of the intersection of S.E. 28th Street and 80th Avenue S.E. around 9:55 a.m. on Sept. 23. According to the accident report, police cited a 70-year-old Bellevue man for making an improper lane change that caused the accident.

A three-car collision involving an Island police car occurred around 5:50 p.m. on Sept. 15 just south of the intersection of S.E. 60th Street on Island Crest Way. According to the incident report, the officer was traveling northbound on Island Crest when a teenager traveling in the opposite direction rear-ended a car, pushing it across the centerline and into the police car.

Forgery and fraud

A construction employee of an Island-based business is suspected of stealing more than $7,000 from his former company by forging a handful of checks that he reproduced from original, legitimate company-issued checks sometime between Aug. 1 and Sept. 8.

An 84-year-old Island woman’s credit card number was used to wire $333 to an unknown suspect. The victim still possessed the card but later destroyed it and changed her account numbers.

An Islander was defrauded $4,834.44 after an unknown suspect forged at least 10 checks from her bank account sometime between Aug. 27 and Sept. 1. According to the police report, the suspect stole the victim’s checkbook from her mailbox in the 4000 block of East Mercer Way.

An Island resident, 46, reported that a fraudulent online purchase totaling $2,791 was made on his credit card via the Apple Computer Web site on Sept. 19.

Car prowl

Several miscellaneous items were stolen from a vehicle in a car prowl that took place sometime between the afternoon of Sept. 15 and the morning of Sept. 18 in the 7700 block of 80th Place S.E. According to the police report, the thief cut open the car’s convertible top to get inside.

Burglary

and thefts

A bicycle was stolen from a garage the morning of Sept. 20 in the 4500 block of West Mercer Way.

The rear door handle of Georgio’s Subs in the South end shopping center was broken apart during the night of Sept. 19. It appeared that the business was not entered and nothing was taken.

A diamond ring and gold Rolex watch were stolen from a safe inside a home in the 6000 block of S.E. 20th Street while the owner was on vacation between Aug. 24 and Sept. 16. According to the police report, only the victim and ex-husband know the combination to the safe, but the ex-husband claimed to be out of town during the same time period. Both the victim’s daughters also claimed that they did not take the jewelry.
