The Northwest Yeshiva girls basketball team traveled all the way to Spokane for the girls 1B state tournament, but fell to Columbia (Hunters) in the quarterfinals.
The 613s lost 75-33 on Thursday night at Spokane Arena. Despite the loss, because the tournament is double elimination, the girls will play Friday in the consolation round at 2 p.m. against Cusick.
Columbia quickly established a strong lead, up 28-6 at the end of the first quarter, followed by a 16-13 second quarter to give the Eastern Washington team a 44-19 lead at halftime.
After the break, Northwest Yeshiva hit 10 points in the third quarter, but Columbia continued to dominate offensively, scoring 18 points, followed by a 13-4 fourth quarter.
Colubmia’s Lindsay Loe had 31 points during the game. Julia Owen had the 613s high in points with 14, while Milana Davydov and Ilana Greenberg each had seven points. Grace Almo added three and Elana Hasson had two points.
The team faces Cusick in the consolation round, after losing 50-45 to Sunnyside Christian.
If the 613s beat Cusick on Friday, they move forward to a Saturday game, against the winner of the Neah Bay vs. Lopez game.
