Mercer Island High School is welcoming back three of its own students this fall as teachers. MIHS graduates Susan Rindlaub, Amie Fahey and Shannon Verschueren will join five other Islanders — Lee Jahncke, Jamie Prescott, Tony Scaringi, Brett Ogata and Karen Sherwood — who have returned to teach at the school that taught them.

Over the next several weeks, WSDOT and Sound Transit will be continuing its work to add HOV lanes to the I-90 outer roadway between Seattle and Bellevue; adding new I-90 HOV on and off-ramps on Mercer Island; and improving I-90 HOV access at Bellevue Way.
The purpose of the proposed tolling of the SR-520 and I-90 floating bridges is to raise money to build a new 520 bridge for travel from the Eastside to Seattle.
