A collision occurred in the intersection of West Mercer Way and S.E. 32nd Street around 3:45 p.m. on April 3. According to the accident report, a 46-year-old Renton man in a pick-up truck did not have enough time to stop and struck a rental car driven by a 27-year-old man from California while crossing West Mercer. Passengers and drivers complained of soreness in their chest and ankles.

If you failed to mail-in your voter registration prior to last week”s deadline, you haven”t missed your chance yet to vote in the Nov. 8 General Election. King County Elections will hold a special one-time, in-person registration from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 22 on the second level of Bellevue Square between the Aveda and Johnston & Murphy stores.

Tony Clay, an auto detailer at a Mercer Island Shell Station for 21 years, was a minor celebrity last week. Clay was interviewed on a local news station after he pulled a man from the doorway of his burning apartment and alerted the manager of the Belltown building Sunday, June 5. There were no injuries from the blaze, but nine people and two firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation.
It”s unknown if comedian Henny Youngman”s famous phrase “Take my wife, please”” was the catalyst for naming cable television channel A&E”s reality TV show “Sell This House,”” but the name conjures up thoughts of desperation.
Billing itself as ``This Old House meets Candid Camera,'' the weekly show features ``homeowners desperate to sell and prospective buyers secretly videotaped as they express their observations upon first seeing the house,'' according to its Web site. A budget of up to $500 is set to redecorate each home.
