Paracle wins for foster kids

Highly successful local investment firm wins recognition and $15,000 for Treehouse

Paracle Advisors, a wealth management firm led by St. Monica School grad, Anne Marie Kessler, has won a prestigious award that allowed her business to designate a cash award to a worthy cause.

The Mercer Island-based investment management firm, Paracle, was recently awarded the Charles Schwab & Co. Inc., 2013 Pacesetter Award which honors an investment advisory firm that has achieved accelerated growth by demonstrating “tremendous initiative, vision, leadership and promise in their quest to provide advice to individual investors.” Schwab works with over 7,000 investment advisory firms and Paracle is the only local firm to have won this award. Schwab will make a $15,000 donation to Treehouse on behalf of Paracle. The non-profit Treehouse helps support children in foster care in Western Washington.

“We are honored to be recognized for our drive to care for our clients and offer them sound financial advice provided in a simple matter-of-a-fact manner,” said Kessler. “We opened our office here on Mercer Island in 2007 because we felt that the Island offered a welcoming and vibrant community.  It’s a convenient meeting place for our clients both on the Island. And after 20 years, its great to be back home.”

Kessler whose family moved to the Island in 1980, attended St. Monica’s on Mercer Island from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Her family continues to live on the east side of the Island. Her father, Bob, is actively involved in volunteering with the Friends of the Needy through St. Monica Parish. Continuing the family tradition of community involvement, Paracle is a sponsor of the Mercer Island Rotary’s Half Marathon.

Kessler was recently recognized by the Puget Sound Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty program which spotlights top business leaders under the age of forty who excel in their industry and show dynamic leadership.

The firm also appeared in Forbes Magazine in 2009.

The word Paracle comes from a Greek word that means “called alongside to help.”

Paracle was founded in 2004 by EJ Brink, Joshua Harris, and Kessler. The firm now has approximately $480 million in assets under management and works with some 200 individuals and families.
