With the City of Mercer Island lifting its boil water advisory Monday morning, the Mercer Island School District announced Mercer Island schools will be back in session Tuesday, Sept. 30 after district-wide closures due to the advisory.
MISD announced on its website its maintenance and operations team will adhere to King County Health procedures and sanitize all facilities throughout the day on Monday, Sept. 29.
With MISD schools closing Monday due to the water advisory, all Mercer Island High School athletic contests, both home and away, and all practices were canceled. Athletic events canceled included MIHS volleyball hosting Sammamish, boys golf at Liberty and boys tennis hosting Newport. Mercer Island volleyball rescheduled its match with Sammamish to tomorrow at 7 p.m. at MIHS.
