Swenson will discuss Recompose at Rotary meeting on April 19

Anna Swenson will discuss “Recompose — A Green Burial Option in honor of Earth Day 2022” at the Rotary Club of Mercer Island’s April 19 meeting.

The main meeting will begin at 12:45 p.m. and can be accessed at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/4096976967. All are welcome.

Anna Swenson is the outreach manager at Recompose, the world’s first human composting funeral home. Since opening its first location in 2020, Recompose has worked with more than 100 families to gently turn their loved ones into soil. For each person who chooses human composting instead of conventional burial or cremation, one metric ton of carbon is saved from entering the environment. That’s the emissions equivalent of driving 2,500 miles.
