Thanks to rescuers

I was walking in Pioneer Park on Sunday, July 19. It was a beautiful day and the trail was very dry after all of the hot sunshine we had been enjoying. As I began to descend the ravine, my right foot slipped out from under me and I fell on top of my left foot, suffering a compound ankle fracture. Within a minute or so, a jogger came along, helped me call for help and then stayed with me until the fire department arrived.

I want to thank that jogger and the excellent 68th Street fireman for their help and assistance. I asked their names at the time, but I wasn’t in any condition to remember afterwards. We are all fortunate to have a Mercer Island community that is ready and willing to help each other at any time.
