Mercer Island public hearings set for April 6 and 8

The Mercer Island City Council will hold a public hearing at its regular virtual meeting at 5 p.m. on April 6 to receive comments on an ordinance providing interim zoning and official controls to allow more outdoor seating for eating and drinking establishments.

The city’s hearing examiner will conduct two virtual open record public hearings for the appeals of two code enforcement actions at 9 a.m. on April 8.

Barcelo Homes, Inc., Premium Homes of Mercer Island and Bogdan and Nadia Maksimchuk filed appeals of the notice of violation and civil penalties for code enforcement at the Island properties at 7216 93rd Ave. SE and 2906 74th Ave. SE.
