ANTON THOMAS GADOLA

Toni died peacefully on January 25th, surrounded by his wife and daughters, after a very long and courageous battle with heart failure. He faced his death the way he faced life, with bravery, a sense of humor, and an extremely feisty spirit. Anton was born on October 6, 1945 in Switzerland. He met his American wife, Linda, in 1969, married there in 1972, and moved to Mercer Island in 1979. Toni and Linda shared many an adventure: they raised a beautiful family, traveled the world extensively, and enjoyed serving the Mercer Island community with their European restaurant, Alpenland Deli. He will be remembered as a great chef, for his love of cars, and for his strong loyalty to family and friends.

Toni is survived by his wife, Linda, his sister-in-law, Joanie Zeman, his daughters, Christa, and Corina (Ken), and grandchildren, Cohen and Emerson, and siblings, Annalisa, Rinaldo, and Elfrieda. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Maria and Anton Gadola. A very special thank you to Dr. Stempien-Otero, Heidi Kresken, and all of the nurses and staff at the University of Washington Medical Center for their exceptional and dedicated care over the last 19 years. Remembrances in his honor may be made to L’Arche Seattle (PO Box 22023, Seattle, WA 98122) or SmileTrain (my.smiletrain.org/donation). Services will be held at St. Monica’s Church, Mercer Island, WA, on Monday, February 5th at 11:00.
