Catherine Crawford

Catherine Brown Crawford died on Nov. 4, 2008. Born in Scotland on March 25, 1949, and raised in Zimbabwe, she immigrated to the United States at age 18 and lived on Mercer Island for over 20 years. Ms. Crawford worked for Qwest Communications for 33 years. Along the way, she earned her MBA from Seattle Pacific University. She had a lifelong interest in the arts, music, dance and education, and was a member of several Scottish and English dance groups.

Ms. Crawford is survived by her daughter, Lesley; brother, Brian Thompson, and sister, Jean Dick, both of South Africa; a niece, four nephews and many friends.

A “Memorial Tea” will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 111 N.E. 80th, Seattle. Remembrances are suggested to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. An online guestbook is at www.columbiafuneralhome.com.
