THOMAS (TIM) MOORE

Thomas (Tim) Moore, 90, long time resident of Mercer Island passed peacefully to the Lord on July 3, 2017 at Ida Culver Broadview. Tim was born on March 24, 1927 in Ayr, Scotland.

Educated at Ayr Academy and the University of Glasgow Royal Technical College for Engineering he immigrated to Seattle to work for Boeing. An avid golfer he was a life long member of Prestwick St. Nicholas Golf Club and spent many happy days on the links with his brother Jack and sister Francis.

Tim was a devoted husband, father and grandfather relishing the time he and his wife Jean spent entertaining in their home on Mercer Island. After a good meal Tim was known to effortlessly recite a Robert Burns poem for his guests. He loved a good Cabernet and was an original investor in Sagemoor Farms Bacchus Vineyard in the Columbia Basin. They were active members of Emmanuel Episcopal church.

Tim and Jean enjoyed travel, on holiday in Spain they purchased an apartment in Marbella, which they enjoyed for many years. In retirement they moved to Port Ludlow to golf and relax. As Jean’s health deteriorated they moved to Ida Culver House Broadview.

Tim is held in loving memory by his children: Leslie Moore (Rick Bogar), Diane Ellis (Paul Cathcart) and Michael Ellis (Kathy), his five grandchildren: Bryce and Colin Bogar, Dane and Reid Ellis Sullivan and Brooks Ellis, and two great-grand children: Ethan Sullivan and Joanna Lynch. He is preceded in death by his first wife Helen, and his wife of 53 years Jean Allan Ellis.
