A second-half goal from Kiley Suter lifted the Bellevue girls soccer team over Mercer Island 1-0 in the 3A KingCo championship game Monday night at Bellevue High School.

The victory marked the Wolverines’ third 1-0 victory over the Islanders this season, and second within a week. With the win, Bellevue earned an automatic 3A state tournament berth as the district’s no. 2 seed.

Mercer Island moves on to face Lake Washington in a lose-out game at 7 p.m. Wednesday at MIHS. The winner will advance to a state tournament play-in game Saturday, Nov. 7.
