Tolkin defends Tacoma title

Mercer Island High School senior Brian Tolkin won the Tacoma Junior Championship for the second year in a row. Tolkin scored a 68 during the first round, a 69 during the second round and a 73 during the final round to win the championship by 10 strokes for the second consecutive year.

According to the organizers, “only a couple of individuals in the last 50 years have repeated as champions.”

The Tacoma Junior Tournament is a three-day cumulative score event.

Tolkin decided to try and defend his title instead of playing in the Pacific Northwest Golf Association tournament in Idaho.
