Hoopsters display their skills at tournament

After a two-year break due to COVID-19, the Mercer Island Boys & Girls Club (MIBGC) brought back its annual 3 on 3 Islander Madness Tournament on Nov. 11.

With COVID-19 protocols in place and no spectators, MIBGC hosted six divisions spanning from fifth grade through high school with 40 teams totaling more than 150 participants. The event was sponsored by Sahara Pizza and MI Boys Select Basketball.

The winners were:

* I’m All About That Bracket, 5th Grade Boys, Tiny Ballers: Cory, Conner, Thomas and Jack.

* Swish Something bracket, 5th & 6th Grade Girls, Triple Trouble: Bryn, Eira and Olivia.

* Uptown Dunk bracket, 6th Grade Boys & 7th Grade Girls, BI Ballers: Dom, Joe and Blake.

* LeBron, Do You Love Me? bracket, 7th Grade Boys & 8th Grade Girls, Southside Ballers: Tyler, Finn, Charlie and Chase.

* Pass Me In The Middle bracket, 8th Grade Boys & High School Girls, Triple Threat: Colin, Owen, Andrei and Zach.

* 3PTline Bling bracket, High School Boys, The Amigos: Logan, Benjamin, Maxwell and William.

* 3PT Shootout, Girls: Anna Mock making 10 out of 15; Boys: Colin Monahan making 14 out 15.
