Islanders track athletes compete in KingCo 3A meet

Mercer Island sophomore hurdler Jack Clayville, center, competed in the 110-meter hurdles at the Class 3A KingCo Championships on May 10 at Skyline High School in Sammamish. Clayville clocked a personal best time of 17.28 in the race. Mercer Island girls athletes competing in the KingCo 3A meet consisted of Maya Virdell (200, 400), Margaret Baker (400), Gretchen Blohm (400), Ella Hensey (400, long jump), Elizabeth Bailey (400), Chloe Michaels (1600), Mary Rose Vu (1600), Kendra Watson (100 hurdles, 300 hurdles), Peyton Bohlinger (100 hurdles, 300 hurdles), Katherine McCormick (300 hurdles), Leah Wootton (discus), Rose Weiker (pole vault), Elizabeth Bailey (pole vault), Aleksandra Kogalovski (pole vault) and Giulia Quarta Cas (long jump). Mercer Island boys competitors included Christopher Yee (200), Euan Dumont (800), Spencer Kingston (800), Jaelin Tate (400, long jump), Randall Schulz (800), Christian Avilez (800), Mitchell Kirby (110 hurdles, 300 hurdles), Charles Fischer (110 hurdles, 300 hurdles), Carl Carlens (300 hurdles), Andy Bliss (shot-put) and Teague Frazier (shot-put).
