The Mercer Island 10-11 All-Stars captured the District 9 championship, beating Eastlake 19-13 in the title game July 6 in Redmond.

Mercer Island went undefeated in the tournament, beating teams from Kirkland, Snoqualmie, Sammamish and Issaquah to reach the championship final. Mercer Island rallied from a 10-3 deficit in the bottom of the second, scoring seven runs over the next two innings to even the score, before exploding with eight runs in the top of the fifth inning to pull away.

Mercer Island 10-11 All-Star team members include Marques Abulhosn, Jack Beebe, Chaz Brotherton, Austin Cupic, Nicholas Fuchs, Lucas Fujii, Alex Henderson, Edgar Nakamura, Noah Perlman, Jakob Schulz, Spencer Smith, Dane Steiner and Ethan Yang. The team is managed by Robin Fuchs and coached by Brad Brotherton and Steve Yang.

The team will head to Clarkston for the state tournament, which will begin July 23.
