Mercer Island defeats Bellevue Christian, falls to Cedarcrest in double dual | Prep wrestling

The Mercer Island wrestling team hosted the Cedarcrest Red Wolves and the Bellevue Christian Vikings in its first double dual meet of the season Nov. 30 at Mercer Island High School.

The Islanders defeated Bellevue Christian 45-28, though fell to Cedarcrest 40-33.

Andrew Motz (126) and Connor Hill (195) both registered two pins for Mercer Island. Motz defeated Cedarcrest’s Austin Link and Bellevue Christian’s Cameron Polley. Hill won over Cedarcrest’s Davis Allik and Bellevue Christian’s Jacob Burke.

Finn Childress (152) scored a pin and a victory by decision. Childress pinned Cedarcrest’s Brady Robertson and won by a 7-1 decision over the Vikings’ Josh Erme.

Teague Frazier (285) recorded two wins by forfeit at the dual meet. Eli Pruchno (120), Piljin Kwak (138), Jonah Andres (160) and Colin Farrell (182) all scored wins for Mercer Island against Bellevue Christian. Jack Harper (145) and Russell Asmus (220) also registered wins against Cedarcrest.
