A team of Mercer Island students, all who will be freshman at Mercer Island High School next year, won their division at Spokane's Hoopfest in late June.

A team of students, all who will be freshman next year, won their division at Spokane’s Hoopfest in late June.

The players have played together for the last five years, and this was their first championship. They won the title at Hoopfest in overtime.

The group includes: Phinney Tasker, Jack Delay, Marcus Schiller and David Sims.

All are students on Mercer Island expect for Tasker, who lives in Issaquah and will attend Issaquah High School in the fall.
