Northwest Yeshiva wins first game at state

Backed by a 22-point effort from Yoel Kintzer and 12 points each from Victor Maimon and Dovi Goldberg, Northwest Yeshiva High School defeated Naselle, 60-48, Wednesday morning in a 1B state boys basketball opener at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. The No. 3 Mercer Island-based squad led 25-12 after one period and 30-28 at halftime. They outscored their No. 11 opponent 18-7 in the third frame. Kintzer also had 11 rebounds and two 3-pointers and Maimon added a pair of treys. Northwest Yeshiva will next play No. 4 Willapa Valley at 9 a.m. on Thursday.
