GLADYS (MILKIE) FAILING

Gladys (Milkie) Failing recently passed away peacefully with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. She grew up in Seattle where she had 2 older brothers and 2 older sisters. She was very proud of her Lebanese heritage and her large family.

Gladys attended the University of Washington and was the first woman in her family to graduate from college. She met the love of her life Bob while attending college. Bob and Gladys were married and built a home on Mercer Island where they raised their daughter. After Bob’s retirement they traveled and were very active in the Shriner organization. Gladys moved to Aegis in Issaquah and spent the rest of her life there.

She is survived by her daughter, son-in-law, grandson, granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed.

The family would like to thank Providence Hospice and the staff at Aegis of Issaquah for all the love and care they gave Gladys.

A memorial service will be held Monday, August 28, 2017 at 2:00pm at Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Mercer Island. Memorial donations may be made to Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Shriners Hospitals for Children, or the charity of your choice.
