Aug. 31
SCAM: A victim in the 2200 block of 77th Ave. SE said she gave two $50 iTunes gift cards over the phone to someone claiming to be from the IRS, who told her she owed money in back taxes. The incident was reported at 2:15 p.m.
Sept. 1
FRAUD: At 3:35 p.m., a victim in the 2500 block of 70th Ave. SE said that two credit cards were fraudulently opened using her name and personal information.
Sept. 2
WARRANT ARREST: Police stopped a vehicle at 6:52 a.m. in the 2200 block of W. Mercer Way and arrested the driver on a misdemeanor warrant.
DOMESTIC: Officers responded to a mentally disturbed suspect at 9:38 a.m. in the 7200 block of 87th Ave. SE., and identified the incident as violation of a no contact order and assault and battery. A female respondent and male petitioner were both arrested and booked for respective charges.
PROWLING: Glasses and other miscellaneous items were taken during a car prowl. The incident was reported at 4:04 p.m. in the 6100 block of 92nd Ave. SE.
MINOR, LIQUOR VIOLATION: A student was found in a vehicle with an open bottle of wine at 8:46 p.m. in the 9100 block of SE 42nd St. The student admitted to drinking before the football game, and was arrested and released to a parent.
TRAFFIC OFFENSES: Police stopped a car driving without lights on at 10:16 p.m. in the 7700 block of westbound I-90, and found the driver had a suspended license. The driver was arrested, processed, cited and released at the Mercer Island police department.
Sept. 3
THEFT: A locked bicycle was reported stolen from a bike rack overnight in the 8000 block of N. Mercer Way. There was no suspect information.
Sept. 4
WARRANT ARREST: Police stopped a driver for expired tabs and speeding at 10:28 a.m. in the 8200 block of eastbound I-90, and arrested the driver on a warrant. The vehicle was impounded.
THEFT: A roll of vinyl flooring material was reported stolen from a storage room of a rental property in the 4200 block of Mercerwood Drive at 1:42 p.m., for a loss of $200.
MORE THEFT: Two iPads were reported stolen from Roberto’s restaurant at 8:04 p.m. A credit card was used by the suspect, and the information was gathered by the Mercer Island police department and provided to CIS.
