Mercer Island Youth and Family Services Foundation’s annual breakfast is Feb. 7

Registration is now open at www.miyfs.org.

Every year, the local community comes together to celebrate and support Mercer Island Youth and Family Services at its biggest fundraising event, its annual breakfast. This year’s event will be from 7-8:30 a.m. on Feb. 7 at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center.

Last year, almost 600 guests attended the event, which supports the MIYFS Foundation. Attendees hear from MIYFS as well as local Islanders about the impact of the organization on their lives and the well-being of the community.

There is no charge to attend the breakfast, but there is a suggested minimum donation of $250 per person. Registration is now open at www.miyfs.org.

Doors open at 7 a.m., and the breakfast program runs from 7:30-8:30 a.m.

Can’t attend the breakfast? There are a lot of other ways to get involved:

• Make a donation: all donations are gratefully accepted and as MIYFS Foundation is a 501(3)(c) organization, your gift is tax deductible.

• Buy raffle tickets: this year’s raffle has three prize packages and the three winners will be drawn at the annual breakfast. Prizes include two Alaska Airlines tickets ($2,500), “Valentine’s Day Any Day” pamper package ($1,865) and “Wellness + Mind + Body” package ($1,130). Tickets are $10 each, and are on sale now at the MI Thrift Shop, MIYFS admin office (brick building at Luther Burbank Park), MI Chamber of Commerce and MI Athletic Club.

• Shop and dine for MIYFS at local businesses: on Feb. 7-8, businesses around Mercer Island will donate 10 percent of sales to MIYFS. Look out for the full list of businesses in January.

• Buy glass hearts: hand crafted glass hearts are for sale around the Island throughout January and February at local businesses (listed on www.miyfs.org) and at the breakfast. Buy an original work of art and support MIYFS.

See www.miyfs.org for more information about the breakfast, registration and details about how to get involved.
