The Grand Slammers softball team on Mercer Island had a 14-game undefeated season this spring before falling to the Bellevue Blue Jays in the championship game of the Girls Coast Fast Pitch Softball Division. The team, comprised of fourth- and fifth-grade girls, plus one third-grader, was coached by Steve Goldman, Heather Ramseyer and Jay Kane.
