When artist Natalie Oswald first saw Luther Burbank Park she was struck by the scenery. Oswald, who was commissioned to paint a mural above the tennis courts on the North-end of the park, couldn’t help but notice the stunning backdrop aligned with her style, what she describes as “a lot of nature and birds and sky and water.”
On Thursday, June 5, the City of Mercer Island sent notice to the Washington State Liquor Control Board (WSLCB) informing it that Tom’s Stuff, the single lottery winner awarded a bid for a recreational marijuana storefront on the Island, didn’t comply with state law.
While City zoning does not allow pot sales, five applicants submitted plans for approval.
