So far, our community has raised $814,000 and we’re getting close to reaching the $1 million mark, where a very generous Challenge Grant kicks in and gets us to our ultimate goal of $1.2 million and saving all 20 teaching positions.
[Bridge the Gap is a communitywide effort to raise essential funds for schools that are no longer coming from the Washington state Legislature.]
Thirty-seven percent of our Island families have contributed so far, and we need everyone else to join in to get us the rest of the way. We still have three elementary, two middle and two high school teachers to save.
Nine hundred fifty-four families have given to Bridge the Gap. That means that there are 1,544 families in our school community who can still be part of ensuring the lowest class sizes possible for our students, when they return to school next fall.
If you’ve already given, thank you!
If you’ve been meaning to give but just haven’t gotten around to it, please give now at www.mercerislandschoolsfoundation.com/donate.
If you’ve been thinking that the amount you can give isn’t enough to make a difference, please know that every dollar matters and is of great value in moving us closer to the Bridge the Gap goal. Please join us and make your donation now.
Please take a minute to share this message with everyone you know. Together, we can Bridge the Gap!
