A local resident recently spotted an elk around Mercer Island.

Mercer Island resident Karsten Mullins and others recently reported an elk spotting to the Reporter. Mullins took this photo at 8:45 a.m. on Aug. 12 at the northern most point of 78th Avenue Southeast.
