Greenway Days is a celebration of the conservation and education efforts in the Mountains to Sound Greenway and the over 4,000 annual volunteers who give their time to keep the 100-mile long stretch of I-90, from Puget Sound to Central Washington, clean and green.

The Mountains to Sound Greenway connects natural areas, trails, working farms and forests, historic towns and communities, wildlife habitat and recreation opportunities from Seattle across the Cascade Mountains to Central Washington. The Greenway provides easy access to recreation and nature for millions of people in the Northwest, key to the quality of life in this region.

Greenway Days offers activities on Mercer Island as well as in communities throughout the Washington area. Locally, the celebration includes youth fishing instruction at Luther Burbank Park on June 20. Children and teenagers alike can relax in the summer sun with a fishing pole and bait. Those eager for more action can enjoy a kayak ride the following day. Both activities take place at Luther Burbank Park’s waterside boating center.
