Mercer Island legislators to host Town Hall

In other community news, there’s a dance on Friday and city offices will be closed Monday.

41st district Town Hall is Saturday

The public is invited to join state Sen. Lisa Wellman, Rep. Judy Clibborn and Rep. Tana Senn at the 41st Legislative District Town Hall from 10 a.m. t0 12 p.m. on Feb. 17 at Bellevue’s Somerset Elementary, 14100 Somerset Blvd SE.

“We want to give you an update on the current legislative session, hear what’s on your mind, and take your questions on issues that matter to you, such as education, healthcare, public safety, transportation, the environment, and the economy,” Senn wrote in an email to constituents.

All three are Democrats who live on Mercer Island, and represent parts of King County including Bellevue, Mercer Island, Newcastle, Issaquah, Sammamish and the northern part of Renton.

Community dance is Friday

The Mercer Island Arts Council is sponsoring a community dance from 7-11 p.m. on Feb. 16 at the VFW Hall, featuring Little Bill and the Blue Notes. There will be a dance lesson taught by Ari Levitt for the first hour, and open dancing after that.

City offices closed Monday

Mercer Island facilities will be closed for President’s Day on Feb. 19. All KCLS libraries will also be closed.
