Islander Bridget Santacroce, right, pictured here in her bedroom with her mother Kimberly, was just six weeks old when her parents noticed something was amiss. A visit to the pediatrician showed an enlarged liver, one of the signs of neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer. The cancer was removed from her adrenal gland, but had spread to the bone near her eye, which meant chemotherapy. Bridget had to undergo eight rounds of chemo. Thanks to the care she received at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle, Bridget is now cancer-free. Today she is a bright, strong-willed 3-year-old.

Her mother, Kimberly, will be sharing her story at the American Girl Fashion Shows to benefit the hospital this weekend: Friday, March 16, at 7 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, March 17 and 18, 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. all at the Westin in downtown Bellevue.

Tickets are $50 per person. To buy tickets, visit www.starguildfashionshow.org or call (425) 488-4580.
