Mercer Island’s Keewaydin Clubhouse — known to locals as the VFW Hall — earned less than 1 percent of the popular vote.

The second-place finisher, Town Hall Seattle, also earned a grant of $125,000 after the organizers recognized a late comeback for the Seattle landmark.

Voters could vote online daily for their favorite place, which included King Street Station in Seattle, the Point No Point lighthouse and the Ferry House at Ebey’s Landing.

Another $750,00 in grants will be awarded on June 15 to a number of other sites after a review by the Advisory Committee of local preservation leaders, American Experience and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
