The Washington Attorney General’s office is suing an online seller of stethoscopes for its sales practices.

The suit, filed in King County Superior Court, names Marc Werblud and the companies he owns, Stethoscopes Plus, Inc. based on Mercer Island, and Magna Fortis Corp., based in Bellevue. The suit claims the businesses violated the state’s Consumer Protection Act.

The AG’s office has received 23 complaints about the companies since 2007, which were charged hundreds of dollars for products and never received their orders. Calls to the customer support line went unanswered.

The suit asks for injunctive provisions to stop the unfair business practices, as well as civil penalties and consumer restitution.
