The Mercer Island Community Fund has once again demonstrated its support for music education in our schools with a generous grant of $2,000.

Just last year, the Community Fund donated money toward the purchase of new band uniforms. And, this year, it is helping to send students (outfitted in those new uniforms) to march proudly as ambassadors for Mercer Island in the 2011 London New Year’s Day Parade. Thanks to the community fund, we are one step closer toward raising the $41,000 needed to fulfill student scholarship requests and ensure that all band members are able to make the trip.
